About
Lucy Callaghan
lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. Lucy writes and edits fiction and narrative non-fiction: essays, feature articles, profiles and reflective pieces. She is currently writing a novel set in nineteenth-century Finland and Kangaroo Island.
After her first book, Girls Can Do It (foreword by Helen Garner) was published, Lucy established a career in the public sector working with education, justice, employment and health-related agencies. Her ability to write and edit was a consistent through-line during those years, and now she devotes her time to writing compelling stories in a more creative vein. Lucy’s editing style is collaborative and she enjoys working with other writers to refine their work.
Lucy has an Arts degree, post-graduate qualifications in research and evaluation, professional writing and editing, and has studied creative writing at the University of Oxford and with Curtis Brown Creative in the UK.
